About us
MonŒil is the fruit of the ingenuity and passion of a team of ophthalmologists at the Centre Hospitalier Intercommunal de Créteil.
Dr Claudio XOMPERO, had already used artificial intelligence to complement the education of medical students. His experience greatly facilitated the development of generative artificial intelligence for patient education. Together with Dr. Carl-Joe MEHANNA, responsible for the site's logistics, they co-created MonŒil with the aim of filling the gaps that present themselves to today's patients. These patients are all too often overwhelmed by the quantity and complexity of the medical information they are given in consultation, and need a simple, reliable, accessible and free source to find answers to any questions they may have about their diagnosis or treatment.
With the help of Dr Walid BENETTAYEB, the team proved the usefulness of this interface within a consultation in a subspecialized department, with elderly patients suffering from age-related macular degeneration.
Of course, all this was made possible thanks to the support of Pr Eric SOUIED, head of ophthalmology at the CHI de Créteil, who supported and encouraged the development of MonŒil within his department.
Our mission:
With MonŒil, our mission is to answer all your questions about medical ophthalmology, simply and interactively, using the latest advances in artificial intelligence. Our aim is to educate and support patients, giving them precise answers and clear explanations to medical terms often used in ophthalmology.
Our team firmly believes in the importance of therapeutic patient education as a pillar of prevention, treatment and support in the care of eye diseases. Our ambition is to democratize access to medical information, so that the most complex ophthalmological knowledge becomes accessible and comprehensible to all, at the click of a button, and entirely free of charge.
What's more, MonŒil is able to receive questions by voice dictation, and enunciate the answers with text-to-speech software, making things much easier for patients with poor visual acuity.
Whether you're looking to understand a recent diagnosis or simply to learn more about eye health, My Eye is your reliable and friendly companion on this adventure.
